Jeff's 1973 VW Super Beetle
After spending too much time on Craigslist and parting with a whole $800, I brought this solid western car home in the form of many large boxes of pieces and parts. I spent many hours sorting through bins of disassembled "whats-its" and tinkering until it finally ran and drove. Then I took it all apart again at least twice to try out engines from my old Ghia and one of several donor Beetles that came to a bad end in my driveway. The original green paint had a nice patina but I had the car stripped and nicely repainted in early 2009. The car has a Hurst shifter and mid-70s Beetle Special Edition seats but is a fairly stock machine.
